Taipei court detains Ko Wen-je without bail

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The Taipei District Court detained Ko Wen-je (柯文哲) without bail and visitation rights on Thursday afternoon (Sept. 5) amid an ongoing corruption investigation, per CNA.

On Wednesday (Sept. 4) the Taiwan High Court asked Taipei District Court to review its earlier decision to release Ko, after prosecutors protested the decision. 

Taipei District Court was asked to deliberate again and make a ruling on whether or not Ko knew about an alleged corruption scheme involving a property development when he was Taipei mayor.

據中央社報導，週四下午（9月5日），臺北地方法院裁定羈押柯文哲進行貪汙調查，不得保釋與探訪。

週三（9月4日）檢察官提出抗告後，臺灣高等法院要求臺北地方法院再次審視先前釋放柯的決定。 

臺北地方法院仔細重新審議，針對柯在擔任臺北市長期間，是否知悉房地產開發計畫與所涉及的貪汙案件，做出裁決。
