TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — KMT Taipei mayoral candidate Chiang Wan-an (蔣萬安) and his DPP counterpart Puma Shen (沈伯洋) faced off over housing, childcare, and education in their televised debate Saturday.

CNA reported that the debate, hosted by TVBS and SET News, came ahead of the Nov. 28 mayoral election. Chiang is seeking a second four-year term, while Shen hopes to end KMT rule in the capital.

Chiang cited the opening of the Taipei Dome sports stadium, plans for Nvidia's overseas headquarters in Taipei, and higher birth grants as key achievements. He accused Shen of making promises without clear plans to carry them out.

Shen said voters should judge the candidates on their policies rather than who won the debate. He pledged to plant more trees, tackle child abuse, and improve school meals during his first 100 days in office.
